Time-specific lighting makes the biggest difference: 'golden hour', 'blue hour', 'overcast diffused light', and 'harsh noon sun' each produce distinct moods. A foreground element (wildflowers, a rocky outcrop, a fallen log) gives the composition depth instead of leaving it as a flat panorama.
